College Dorm Room Organizing Tips
Some college kids are back on campus and no longer living at home so here are some tips for small space room organizing (and it could apply to your room at home as well!)
Think ahead about not having an environment full of items you don’t need in “prime real estate” and leave your childhood memorabilia (for now!) in your parent’s basement or attic. It doesn’t belong in your small college dorm room.
Think vertically by using stacking plastic drawer bins or a tall open cubbie. Also use under your bed and raise it up by using bed risers if you can. And a behind-the-door pocket organizer behind the main door (for shoes, hats/gloves/scarves, sunglasses, etc) won’t clutter up your room and will provide a designated place for many items. You can also use a behind-the-door clear pocket organizer over the bathroom door for toiletry supplies, brush/comb, shampoo, etc.
Not shown but also consider cascading hangers for tshirts, under layer shirts, even sweaters. Here’s one I like best: ContainerStore.com/closet/hangers...
Good luck and please involve your roommate(s) if you have them to carve out time to clean, organize, tidy up to keep your space looking nice so you can concentrate on school work. And, it will look well kept if your parents stop by!
